The service
TypingSpeedTest is a free typing test, and you can use it without an account. We work to keep it available and accurate, but it's provided as is, without warranties, and we may change or remove features. We're not liable for losses that come from using it, beyond what the law requires.
Accounts
- You must be at least 13 to create an account.
- One account per person. Keep your email address up to date so sign-in links reach you.
- Usernames can't impersonate anyone or contain abusive content. We may rename or remove ones that do.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page. The privacy page explains what that removes.
Leaderboards and fair play
Results are checked automatically. We recompute them from the keystroke log and check the timing between keys, as described on the anti-cheat page.
Using bots, macros, scripts, replayed input or anything else to submit typing you didn't do live is cheating. Cheating leads to removed results, shadow-bans (your account is hidden from the public boards) and bans. Three serious anti-cheat events in 24 hours lead to an automatic shadow-ban.
A very fast timed result, above 130 WPM, that also shows unusual timing is held off the public boards until you pass a verification re-test. You still see the result yourself.
You can appeal any decision by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account. A person reviews the keystroke replay, and appeals are never decided by the automated model alone.
A verified badge can be revoked if the result behind it turns out to be fraudulent.
Your content and data
Your results and keystroke logs belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them so we can run the service, check results, show leaderboards (unless you opt out) and work out overall statistics. Any custom text you type stays yours and isn't stored on our server.
Our content
Word lists, quotes, keyboard layouts and fonts carry the licences listed on the credits page. The site's code, name and logo belong to us.
Acceptable use
Don't attack the service, scrape it at a rate that affects other people, or use it to harass anyone. We may rate-limit or block traffic that does.
Changes and contact
